Moore County Middle School fell 39-33 to the Westwood Rockets at the Joel Vinson Gymnasium on Thursday (Nov. 19) night.
A pair of field goals by Sean Anderson in the final minute of the first half brought the score to 19-15, securing Westwood’s lead. Anderson shot for 11 points on the night, five of those points came from the free-throw line.
The second half saw a more intense Rockets team take the court as they shot for 20 points in the half, 10 of those coming from foul shots.
“We didn’t come out with the intensity that we normally do, but they picked it up in the second half,” said coach Will Pannell
The Lady Rockets were trailing at the end of the first period, but a 10-point second period helped them launch past Moore County on their way to a 44-21 victory.
Westwood’s Ladies used full-court pressure to hold Moore County to just four points in the second quarter, and four more in the entire second half.
