DA says no pretrial diversion for Perry

The Coffee County District Attorney’s office has stated it will not grant pretrial diversion to John Perry, who is accused of allegedly shooting Leslie Keele at a party at his parents’ Beech Grove home in December.

Assistant District Attorney Felicia Walkup stated Thursday that a hearing will be held Sept. 29, on that date, according to the prosecutor, Perry's attorney Doug Aaron could ask Circuit Court Judge Venessa Jackson to review the district attorney’s reasons for denying his request.

Walkup stated that the DA office is opposed to any pretrial diversion in the case.
