I imagine this little conversation going on:
"We are not the Beatles."
"Who are you then?"
"That’s correct."
The Who were perhaps aptly named. They made music, there was an audience, what else do you need? Who cares what the name is. They stuck to basics.
And — in the beginning anyway — they were not responsible for the course of rock music, like the Beatles may have been. That may have changed in later years, however.
The Who are going to be the performers at the halftime...
