BANKS, Luther Earnest “L.E.” Jr., 85, died Sunday Jan. 31, 2010. Visitation was held at Kilgore Funeral home Feb. 2 from 5-8 pm. Funeral Services were Feb 3 at 2:30 pm with Reverends Buck Frazier, Eddie Canady, and Tim McGhee officiating. Burial followed at New Reddens Cemetery in Coffee County. Kilgore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
CORNELISON, Ollie D., age 94, of Man-chester. Funeral services were conducted Wed-nesday, February 3, 2010 at 11 AM at the Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Howard Carroll officiating. Burial followed in the Ragsdale Cemetery. Visitation with the Cornelison family was from 4-9 PM, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the funeral home. Mr. Cornelison passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Manchester Healthcare. Mr. Cornelison was born in Coffee County, TN, the son of the late Alex and Rosie Jones Cornelison. In earlier years, he was self employed in the logging industry. In addition to his parents, Mr. Cornelison was also preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Lucille Cornelison; his second wife, Nellie Cornelison; brothers, Charlie, Rufus, Horace, Henry, Ruben and J. Dennis Cornelison; sisters, Birdie Jones, Daisy Jones and Beulah Barlow; and one great grandson, Jeremy Warren. He is survived by one son, Jimmy Jones of Manchester; two daughters, Joyce Thompson and Loretta Warren, both of Manchester; two sisters-in-law, Iona Cornelison and Emma Wilhoite, both of Manchester; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren and 18 great-great grandchildren. LITTLE, Margaret Ann, 75, of Tullahoma, died Saturday Jan. 30, 2010 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga. Visitation was Feb 2 from 5-8 pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Feb. 3 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church with Rev. Tom Murdock officiating. Burial followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. PENNINGTON, Michael Wayne "Moto,” age 55, passed away on February 4, 2010 at his home in Manchester, Tennessee. He was born on July 21, 1954 in Coffee County, Tennessee to his parents, the late Joseph Walter Pennington and Helen LaVerne Pennington. He was an Automotive Body Shop Operator by trade, but also enjoyed building "hotrod" cars, car racing, motorcycle racing and fishing. "Moto" was a very caring person and donated much of his personal time to helping other people by volunteering as a Counselor with Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). He is survived by his four children, Helena Sisk, Michael Pennington, Jr., and Andrea Pennington Giles, all of Manchester; and Joseph Pennington of Decatur, Alabama; four grandchildren, Brylee Sisk, Baylen Sisk, Dillon Pennington and Mikayla Pennington; three brothers, David Pennington, Terry Pennington and Mark Pennington; aunt, Juanita Pierce; uncle, Donald Pennington; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation with the family was on Saturday, February 6, 2010 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. The Funeral Service followed at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday from the Chapel of Central Funeral Home with Brother Benny Benjamin officiating. CENTRAL FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements.
SHORES, Rena S., age 90. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 2 PM at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Bell officiating. Burial with full military honors followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the Shores family was Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 5-9 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Shores passed away on Monday, February 1, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Shores was born in Beech Grove, TN, the daughter of the late Waitstal Watson and Annie D. Orren Shelton. She was a World War II veteran of the Army, having served with the 86th Women’s Army Corp stationed at Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco, California. She lived in Clinton, TN for 55 years before returning to Manchester, where she was raised. She was a member of the Retired Association of Nurses, and Women in Military, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Winnell Shores, who passed in 1985; two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Shores is survived by one son, Terry (Shirley) Shores of Clinton, TN; two daughters, Alice Solis of Santa Ana, CA and Reta (Hank) Cord of Hillsboro; four brothers, Jesse Paul Shelton of NC, Kendall Shelton of Manchester, Billy Shelton of IL and James Shelton of Manchester; six grandchildren, Casey, Kelly, Chris, Larena, Raymond and Joe; two step-grandchildren, Kenny and Deana; and nine great-grandchildren. STATHAM, Rosie Deloreze, age 87, of Hillsboro, passed away Feb 4, 2010 at her residence. She was born March 3, 1922 in Groveoak, AL to the late Earl Marbut and Lillie Richie Marbut. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Manuel Statham; son, Manuel Lee Statham; daughter, Barbara Jean Ashley. Survivors include a son, Robert (Debbie) Statham of Manchester; daughters, Kay (Jim) Millraney of Estill Springs, Rosie Barnes of Hillsboro and Faye (Joe) Shelton of Huntland; special hero, Fred Bush; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation was 11 AM-1 PM Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with services at 1 PM. Rev. Danny Anderson will officiate. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Geraldine, AL. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
TALLEY, Roger, 51 of Huntsville, AL died Jan. 30, 2010 at Huntsville Hospital. Memorial services were held Feb. 4 at 12 noon at Revival Center Church of God in Christ. J.A. Welton & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
