With a new school comes the excitement of fresh interior and paint, new desks and furniture and the excitement of learning a new building.
But easily forgotten at the new Coffee County Middle School are the new athletic fields located behind the school. And while the football team may not have a new game field, they have been given a brand new practice field to prepare for the 2014 season.
“I love the practice field. It’s coming along and starting to green up,” football head coach Brock Freeze said. “It drains well, it rained on us the other day and it drained really fast. It’s just something we take pride in, and that’s why we try to keep it lined and tagged.”
One major upgrade for the football program is space. At the old school, the allotted practice field was small and crammed in behind the soccer field. The new practice field is regulation size.
