Both Coffee County Central High School basketball teams fell in their respective season openers at Summit Tuesday night.
The Herb Horton era for the CHS Lady Raiders started with a 56-36 loss and the Raiders dropped a 64-62 decision.
In the Raiders’ close loss, Coffee County knotted the game at 62-62 on three Lucas Crismond free throws with 9 seconds to play. But the Raiders were whistled for a foul with six seconds left in the game and Summit hit both shots from the charity stripe to seal the 64-62 win.
Crismond led Coffee County with 22 points, including big points late in the third quarter to expand the Red Raider lead to four points with a 50-46 lead. Junior Addison Carter also finished in double figures with 10 points.
