The Coffee Middle Red Raiders jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half of the season opener. Head coach Kenny Lockhart called off the dogs at the half and the Red Raiders coasted to a 5-0 win. Michael Lockhart,.Stephen Lovins, Ben Reid and Neil Slone all scored for CCMS. Lovins netted two goals.
The Lady Rockets earned a dramatic win after a sluggish start against Fayetteville City to start the season 2-0. After three early runs the bats went cold until catching fire in the top of the seventh for 8 runs. The lady Rockets won the game 11-3 and currently lead the DRVC standings.

The Westwood Rockets baseball team lost to Liberty 9-4 Thursday night. Starting pitcher Carlos Medina walked 12 batters in the loss, leading to four Patriot runs. Jeremiah Franklin entered in relief, throwing three-and-one-thirds innings with the bases loaded and struck out seven.
“I wish I would have made the pitching change sooner but I still have a ton of faith in Carlos,” said WMS head coach Tyrell Campbell. “He is very good; he just had an off night.”
Jacob Johnson, Jonathan Sherril and Medina all doubled in the game for the Rockets.
The Lady Raider softball team defeated Columbia Academy 5-0 Thursday night in the Lincoln County preseason jamboree. Brianna Jones, Bethany Baker and Kaylee Skipper all pitched for CHS in the game, combining for a no-hitter.
“The girls played a great game, “said CHS head coach Terry Floyd. “We put down bunts, and got enough hits and the pitchers all did what they needed to do.”
