Coffee Middle Baseball holds on against Warren County
The Coffee Middle School Raider baseball team improved to 3-1 on the season, as they rolled past visiting Warren County, 6-3 on Tuesday, March 6.
After trailing 1-0 early in the first inning, the Raiders would take the lead following a walk to Nolan Jernigan, which walked in a run. The Raiders would extend the lead, as Cole Bryce hammered a two-RBI double two at-bats later.
Jacob Holder recorded two hits for the Raiders, and Jacob Sherrill added two RBIs.
Coffee Middle’s next game is set for Thursday, as they head to Fayetteville to play Lincoln County.
Lady Raiders struggle in loss to Warren County
The Coffee Middle Lady Raider softball team fell to visiting Warren County 10-1 on Tuesday night, March 6.
Kiya Ferrell scored the lone run for the Lady Raiders in the third inning of the ballgame.
Coffee Middle’s next home game is set for March 12 against Harris at Coffee County Middle School.
Rockets get the best of Fayetteville on the road
The Westwood Middle School Rockets soccer team defeated Fayetteville 8-0 on Tuesday, March 6.
The Rockets were led in scoring by Louie Frazier, who finished with two goals, while Nico Sanfilipo, John Martinez, Keaton Sherrill, Tucker Brown, Kevin Perigrino, and Ian Welden each added one apiece.
Defensively, the Rockets allowed only one shot, which was deflected by Bodey Todd.
Westwood’s next game is set for Thursday, March 8, as the Rockets take on St. Andrew’s School in Sewanee at 4:30 p.m.
CCHS Baseball smacks Grundy County in scrimmage
On Tuesday, March 6, the Coffee County Central Red Raiders baseball smoked visiting Grundy County 11-1 in a scrimmage game.
Nathaniel Tate knocked in five RBIs for the Red Raiders, while Jacob Langham tacked on another RBI.
The Red Raiders will begin the regular season next Monday, March 12, as they host district rival Columbia at 5 p.m.
