Winter weather advisory issued for Coffee County

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Middle Tennessee, including Coffee County, from 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15 through 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16.

According to the NWS forecast, snow is expected to move into the Manchester area Monday night, beginning at around 3 a.m. with temperatures plummeting to 19 degrees. Snow is expected to remain through noon Tuesday, with a high temperature of 21. Between 1 to 1.5 inches of snow is expected in the Manchester area.

According to the NWS advisory, “Periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibility and use caution while driving.”
