Coffee County Mayor Gary Cordell signed today, March 19, a Proclamation of State of Emergency.

To help limit the spread of Covid-19, this act waives certain procedures and formalities otherwise required of the county by law. The proclamation of a local state of emergency may also entitle the county to cost reimbursement as provided by state law.

The following procedures and formalities have been waived: entering into contracts; incurring obligations; employment of permanent and temporary workers; utilization of volunteer workers; rental of equipment; acquisition and distribution, with or without compensation, of supplies, materials, and facilities; and appropriation and expenditure of public funds.
