The Arts Center of Cannon County presents “Hank & My Honky Tonk Heroes,” starring Jason Petty August 12 at 7:30 p.m. and August 13 at 2 p.m. “Are shows are unique in that we give the history behind the music and the artist,” Petty said. Petty described the show as an intimate look at the artist through anecdotes and stories that he heard from Hank Williams’ friends. “Time to come back a visit old friend. I treat the stage like it’s my front porch. It’s me talking to the audience,” Petty said. “I meet everybody when I was in Nashville. Hank’s musicians. I became friends with his best friend. I played the Grand ole Opry 12 times because of this role.” Hank Williams’ Lost Highway took Petty from Nashville to Broadway, and now he returns to the Arts Center of Cannon County. Jason Petty has won critical acclaim all over the country for his surreal performance as country legend Hank Williams in the off-Broadway hit Hank Williams’ “Lost Highway'”, so much so that his performance racked up 5 nominations in New York’s award ceremonies for Best Actor.
