Local craft beer company Common John Brewing Co. welcomed the Manchester Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting Thursday.
The brewery, started by owner LeBron Haggard, officially opened this month.
Haggard called the brewery a commitment to community.
“I was born and raised here and I wanted to bring something different. I was at the end of my rope with my day job,” he said.
Haggard saw the brewery to be closer to family, though he admits the business occupies much of his time.
“I really appreciate the support,” he said.
Common John offers wide selection of beer on tap and cans. Select from different beer styles, ciders, seltzers, and non-alcoholic choices, even some gluten-free options too.
There’s a kitchen serving pizza, pretzels and wing.
Hours are Thursday 4-9 p.m., Friday 3-9 p.m., Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday noon-7 p.m.
Chamber Executive Director Katy Riddle commended Haggard for his contribution to Manchester.
“LeBron Haggard is an example of a homegrown entrepreneur who turned his passion into what’s sure to be a successful business for years to come,” she said.
She called the establishment a gem for the community.
“In addition to handcrafted brews, Common John provides a place to gather, to connect with your friends and neighbors, and it’s a true gem for the Manchester community,” she said.
Riddle explained that attracting new businesses is good for the Manchester business community.
“It not only keeps people shopping locally in our community, but also allows the chance to increase the overall customer base for all.”
“When an entrepreneur comes to the Manchester Chamber with an idea, we try to connect them with the resources they need in order to be successful. Our community goal is for all businesses to succeed and we strive to support efforts to make that happen,” she said.
