Two area clubs have announced their scholarship awards for the class of 2019.

The Tullahoma Daughters of the American Revolution awarded the DAR Good Citizen scholarship in April. Winners were Maggie Partin of Tullahoma High School,  Kelli Ray of Moore County High School  Isabel Watkins, of Coffee County Central High School

Watkins, a DAR Good Citizen winner was presented her DAR Good Citizen pin & asked to read her essay “Our American Heritage and our Responsibility for Preserving It,” focused on what new challenges will america face as we move forward into the future.” The essay was a part of the DAR Good Citizen student entry along with all of their high school & community involvement emphasizing dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. 

Southern Tenn. Ladies award CHS senor Matthew Hale scholarship

The Southern TN Ladies' Society awarded its annual Scholarships on Wednesday, May 1 at the Franklin County Country Club. Recipients were Tristian Whitaker (of Moore County High school), James "Matthew" Hale (Coffee County Central High School), Christopher Moreland (Franklin County), Rylee Campbell (Lincoln County), Catherine Evans (Tullahoma), Jonathan "Dalton" Ramsey (Grundy County) and Kobe Steele (Huntland High School). 

This year, each of the seven students received $3,500 each, which brings the total amount of scholarships awarded to 71 for a total amount of $209,000.
