The Coffee County Board of Education will not be extending Director of Schools Dr. LaDonna McFall’s contract. The move follows McFall’s admission last month that she no longer wished to continue her position at Coffee County Schools.
On March 14, McFall and board members agreed to open negotiations to extend her contract. At the meeting, McFall told the board she was interested in extending her contract if the board climate changed. She also confirmed she was still seeking other employment opportunities.
Late March, McFall sent an email to board chairman Brent Henley claiming she did not wish to extend her contract, She backed this claim up during the school board work session on Monday, April 1.
“I no longer wish to talk about an extension,” she told the board.
With McFall’s statement confirmed on public record, the board moved on without entering negotiations, thus confirming that she will no longer be the director of schools once her contract is up in June 2020.
McFall is currently in the running to become Roane County’s director of schools. The second round of interviews for this position occurred on Wednesday, April 3.
