Healthier TN Week

State Governor Bill Lee officially declared this week, April 22-26 Healthier Tennessee Week.

The purpose of Healthier Tennessee Week is to raise awareness about the focused effort to improve health outcomes across the state and to highlight grassroots and community-based efforts. 

“Improving the health of Tennesseans will directly affect the quality of life in our state, attracting more quality jobs, lowering health care costs, increasing productivity and reducing absenteeism in the workplace, and bettering life in rural communities and urban areas,” according to a Proclamation made by  Lee, signed March 15, 2019.  

Healthier TN Week issued the following daily challenges:

  • Move it Monday
  • Take a Breath Tuesday (smoking cessation or celebration of movement or relaxation!)
  • Water Wednesday
  • Take the Stairs Thursday
  • Fruit Friday

To raise awareness throughout the week, Healthier TN is encouraging communities to Engage state legislators, engage local leaders and engage your community. Healthier TN will be running daily social media challenges to help  spread the word about  Healthier Tennessee efforts and build momentum in communities.
