Alluring Lace Images, offering boudoir photography, has opened its doors in downtown Manchester.
Owner Gale Rogers invites locals to visit the photography studio, at 111 E. Main St.
“I am a boudoir photographer and my mission is to empower everyday women in everyday life and everyday beauty,” Rogers said.
“My customers can expect pampering.”
A photo session lasts between three and five hours, added Rogers.
“The client sits in HMUA’s chair, (hair and makeup artist) for about 45 minutes.,” Rogers said. “And then I do a 60-minute photoshoot. They bring three outfits. After that, I send her to take a break, get coffee, get lunch or dinner. She comes back to see her gorgeous photos, and she gets to order them at that time.”
Rogers encouraged local women to take advantage of the studio’s services.
“Our service is more personal, it makes them feel comfortable, safe,” Rogers said.
She also offers themed photography, and ran a Halloween special, and breast cancer and domestic violence awareness specials in October.
“I use special props for that,” Rogers said. “My idea for breast cancer is telling a story – she is a survivor, she fought and she won. It’s the same with domestic violence.”
Rogers said breast cancer and domestic violence are important issues and she has personally experiences both.
“I have survived domestic violence,” she said. “I can relate to these ladies. I am a fighter. I am strong-willed.”
Sandy Mayes, hair and makeup artist, said “you don’t have to be a model to look and feel like one…From a client’s point of view, a photoshoot makes you feel amazing, sexy, beautiful. Even if you have 20 pounds on you you’d like to get rid of, you still feel beautiful.”
“Clients will understand what boudoir is – boudoir is very tastefully done, it helps bring women’s confidence up,” Rogers said.
Prices for packages start at $250, including five images.
“I sell by the package, not individual pictures,” she said. “I also sell wall art.”
