Coffee County has a total of 411 confirmed COVID-19 cases, as of Aug. 2, according to the department of health. The number of active cases is 234, and 175 people have recovered. There have been two deaths in Coffee County related to COVID-19.
The active cases are 0.41% of the population. That rate was 0.39% yesterday, Aug. 1.
When the number of active cases is between 0.5% and 1%, the spread of the virus is considered moderate, and schools will adjust their schedules, and implement a combination of on-site and distance learning.
If the active cases exceed 1% of the population (565), the spread would be considered substantial, and distance learning will be fully implemented. No students will be in the school buildings.
The percentages are calculated based on population of 56,500.
