The Coffee County Jail Committee voted Thursday to move forward on one of the six Manchester properties offered up for the county’s purchase for construction of a new jail. The site chosen is a 44-acre property on Hillsboro Highway south of Interstate 24. Formerly used as a trailer park, the property is large and flat and already has utility hookups in place.
