I received a call Saturday morning from Brandon Gunn, Fire Chief for the Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department asking if I’d like to help set up some new playground equipment for the Hillsboro Elementary School.  I wasn’t able to be part of the set-up team but I stopped by later to see the final installation.

It was great to see the playground looking so fresh with all the new playground equipment the Hillsboro Fire Department and their family and friends had installed.

To my surprise and delight, I learned that the equipment came from a grant awarded to the school by the Lowe’s Toolbox for Education program.

I want to thank Lowe’s for their efforts in helping schools across the country with their on-going Tools for Education Grants and I want to thank all the volunteers who came out on Saturday to help with the installation of the playground equipment for our students at Hillsboro Elementary. I have no doubt they’ve already made great use of it and will for years to come.
