There are many areas in both the Republican and Democratic parties politicians demand that type of language. I see the writer (Susan Winchester) as a staunch conservative Republican, as I am a staunch conservative Democrat who believes looking and caring for the daily needs of every citizen here in Coffee County, the state and the nation. I see conservative Republicans looking only for the benefit of a select, let’s say 1 percent of people. An example is Sen. Mitch McConnell who said Republicans keep the Senate, they will look at cutting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and the Veterans benefits to offset the 17 percent rise in deficit due to the new Tax Reform Bill.

With regards to Pelosi and Schumer going to the southern border, they do not need to go there as the news coming from the border is horrible.

Now I turned to the most depressing sentences of all in this letter, “Let us all unite and re-elect Donald Trump and Mike Pence. America needs them. The world needs them.” Sad to say, but this is the thinking of people who are caught up in this rhetoric. I saw how Donald Trump campaigned in 2016, won the Electoral College, but lost the popular vote by two million, and I saw how he destroyed every Republican candidate who ran against him. The White House is in chaos.

I ask what has Donald Trump and his administration really accomplished? He’s passed one bill – the Tax Reform Bill, of which is proving to be bad. Sad, sad day for the people.
