I want to the Chairman Stan Teal of the Coffee County Public Building Authority (PBS) for his positive decisive leadership to improve the financial stability of our Manchester Coffee County Conference Center (MCCCC). Chairman Teal and the PBA have proposed and are working with the Coffee County Commissioners and State Representative Rush Bricken to send legislation to the TN General Assembly that will allow the Commission to establish a “Motel” tax in the county to be paid by motel users, not taxpayers. When established, the proceeds will support operations of our MCCCC. Further, this will reduce the county’s and the City of Manchester’s operating loss obligation resulting in more dollars to operate the county and city functions. This is a positive step forward and deserves community support.

Rebecca French, Manager of the MCCCC, and her staff are doing a great job in operating the Center. We can assist her! Take your thoughts and ideas on how to improve the Center’s revenues and present them to her after the next PBA meeting.

The next PBS meeting is Jan. 11, 2019 at the Center at 11:30 a.m. The MCCCC is located at 147 Hospitality Blvd., Manchester, TN, just behind the Holiday Inn.

I invite any taxpayers who have the time to attend the next PBA meeting and learn about actions being taken to save us taxpayers dimes and more. Your attendance will show volumes of support. Be there!
