To head off any possible traffic problems, Manchester City Schools has revised its 2019-20 school schedule for October in anticipation of the Exit 111 Festival.
The festival, anticipating about 40,000 guests at the Bonnaroo festival grounds, is scheduled for Oct. 11-13.
Friday, Oct. 11 is now going to be a full day off for students and teachers. To make up that day off, a staff development day, May 20, will now be a full day, the original last day of school was to be May 21, which has been changed to staff development, students will be dismissed at 12:30 p.m. and the new last day of school will be May 22 (9 a.m. dismissal)for the city schools.
“(May) 22nd is also graduation day for Coffee County (Schools),” Director of Schools Dr. Joey Vaughn said.
Coffee County Schools schedule was changed last month to avoid potential traffic problems. Classes will be cancelled for that Oct. 11, and the in-service day scheduled for Nov. 1 will be held on Oct. 11.
Exit 111, a new three-day rock festival will be held at Great Stage Park, also known as a the Bonnaroo Farm and will feature big-name headliners Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard and Lynyrd Skynyrd. For more information, visit www.exit111festival.com.
