Manchester officials are expected to vote on a resolution authorizing for application and acceptance of a $1 million grant for installation of sidewalks and bicycle lanes.
The resolution is on the agenda for Nov. 3 meeting of the Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
The grant would allow for new sidewalks along State Route 41, from Walls Street to half a mile past Campground Road, according to the proposed resolution.
It will also provide funds for a sidewalk from State Route 41 to the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center along Campground Road and Hospitality Boulevard, and for new bicycle lanes along State Route 41, from its intersection with State Route 55 to the city limits near Asbury Road.
The Multimodal Access Grant is available through the Tennessee Department of Transportation and requires the city to contribute $50,000 and to agree to maintain the facilities.
