Fire dept. announces street closures

Press Release Manchester Fire-Rescue will be conducting a Fire Commission-approved live fire training on Saturday, July 22 in a donated home at 1314 Summer St., and the department will block certain areas off for safety reasons from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day.

During that morning, Manchester Fire-Rescue will block off Clover Lane from its intersection with Highway 41 to its intersection with Summer Street. It will also block off Summer Street between its intersections with Clover Lane and Hills Chapel Road. Barricades will be put up indicating the blocked-off areas. Residents will be able to travel from the east side of Summer Street to Hills Chapel Road, and will be able to travel from Clover Lane to Hills Chapel Road from Rogers Circle. Members of Manchester Fire-Rescue, Hickerson Station Volunteer Fire Department and New Union Volunteer Fire Department will be conducting the training.
