Our sister paper, The Tullahoma News, is reporting a "hit list" was found at a school in Tullahoma.
According to the report, there is no credible threat to anyone.
Earlier today, The News reported: According to Interim Director of Schools Scott Hargrove, administration officials at Tullahoma High School “were made aware” of a piece of paper found in a freshman 101 desk with the words “hit list” on it around 12:30 this afternoon.
An investigation was immediately begun, according to Hargrove, and the Tullahoma Police Department was made aware as well.
There was no further identifying information on the paper, including any dates, according to a statement from Hargrove.
School administration officials do not believe there is any sort of credible threat to anyone at THS at this time.
TPD is also conducting an investigation of the incident.
Below is the statement from Hargrove in full:
“At approximately 12:30 this afternoon, THS administration was made aware of a piece of paper, found in a freshman 101 desk, with the words “hit list” written on it. An investigation was immediately initiated. At this time, we have no belief that there is a credible threat to the safety of our students. The document does not indicate a date, and there is no way of knowing how long the piece of paper may have been crumpled up in the desk it was found in. Tullahoma Police have been notified and are conducting an additional investigation.”
