Manchester Parks and Recreation Department was recently awarded a $336,000 grant to add LED lighting, a restroom facility at the soccer complex on Waite Street and the amount will pay half the cost of an inclusive playground ($65,000).

The grant is from Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF), a program of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation of $336,000

“Park Partners is raising the (matching funds) for the grant,” said Parks and Recreation Department Director Bonnie Gamble. “So that’s going to be a $672,000 project.”

Gamble estimated the additions to take about two years. The ADA compliant restrooms will be a pre-fabricated structure, similar to those at a state park.
