UPDATE: Local resident Scott Cutshaw, who was critically injured in the accident on Murfreesboro Highway Nov. 6 and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has passed away.  

STORY POSTED NOV. 6: Multiple vehicles collided on Murfreesboro Highway.

The accident involved several cars and ejection on Murfreesboro Highway at the county line. The incident happened in Rutherford County, with Coffee County and Rutherford County agencies responding to the call that came about 3:30 p.m. today (Nov. 6).

Coffee County Sheriff’s Department and Coffee Count Emergency Medical Services were called for support. LifeFlight was on standby.

The Coffee County EMS paramedics reached the scene and were ready to help, but the Rutherford County EMS handled the case, and Coffee County EMS returned to service.

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Department helped with traffic control, stopping traffic on Murfreesboro highway going north and redirecting vehicles to Interstate 24.

At least two people were injured, one critically.
