Purple Out week raises Alzheimer’s awareness

County Mayor Gary Cordell signs a proclamation designating the week of Sept. 16-20 Alzheimer’s awareness week in Coffee County. Witnessing the signing is County Court Clerk Heather Duncan, left, and Alzheimer’s Tennessee South Central Tennessee Regional Coordinator Fran Gray. Additionally, more than 200 court clerks across the state have designated Alzheimer’s Tennessee a designated charity. Show support for dementia-related conditions this week with “purple out” decorations and clothing. Decorate your space, car or desk Monday, pay tribute to a loved one with dementia Tuesday, eat purple Wednesday, sock out with purple socks Thursday and Friday wear a purple out shirt.
