Previously at 1235 McArthur St., the Storehouse, providing free food for locals in need, is now located at 607 Hickerson St., Manchester, behind Walgreens.
Founder Staria Davison invites those in need to take advantage of the food pantry from 1-3 p.m., every Thursday.
The Storehouse held an open house event Oct. 31 for community members, sponsors and supporters.
Organizers and volunteers talked about future plans for the pantry, said Laurie Campbell, volunteer coordinator.
“We are so excited that our resources are expanding,” Campbell said. “Not only do we have 10 organizations that donate food locally, but we are now getting donations from Winchester and One Generation Away in Franklin, Tennessee. “(This support) makes possible to distribute free food boxes on a weekly basis serving over 100 families.”
The food pantry was founded in 2018, according to Campbell.
