Eighty motorcycles and 41 show vehicles, along with the Ridge Runners Jeep Club, participated in the Nov. 3 Toy Convoy and Show “to bring joy to the children this Christmas,” according to organizer Katy Ishee.
“It was a very patriotic sight to see over 130 vehicles all flying the American flags that stretched miles down the highway,” Ishee said.
“It was a great turnout,” she said. “Approximately (2,500 to 3,000) gifts were donated.”
The value of the collected items is $15,000.
“The toys will be divided among Gene Taylor Steve Graves Christmas Foundation, Manchester Police Department and Wartrace Fire Department,” Ishee said. “If you need help please contact one of these agencies.”
Ishee thanked the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department, Manchester Police, Wartrace Fire Department, Summitville Fire Department, Bedford County Sheriff and North Coffee County Fire Department for the support.
“Our long distance riders rode 632 miles to join the convoy,” she said.
