A tractor trailer has burned on the interstate. Firefighters with the North Coffee Volunteer Fire Department responded to reports of a tractor trailer fire on I-24 near 102-103 mile marker eastbound at 2:56 p.m., today, Nov. 5.

Coffee County Emergency Management Agency, North Coffee fire department, the sheriff’s department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol were on the scene.

The tractor trailer was hauling dog food, and there was not any danger of hazardous materials being burned, according to local authorities.  

The tractor is a total loss.

The driver, who is not local, was not injured. He was traveling by himself.
