UPDATE: Man dies after being struck on Interstate 24

STAFF REPORTS A man was killed early Saturday after he was struck by two vehicles on Interstate 24 near the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. He has been identified as Casey J. Young, 22, of Louisville. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just after 1 a.m. near the McMinnville Highway exit after the unidentified man jumped over a guard rail, bounced off a tractor trailer and then was hit by a Jeep Cherokee. Both drivers stopped and are cooperating with the investigation, according to Sgt. Alan Bailey of the THP. The victim was wearing a Bonnaroo t-shirt and a bracelet issued at the festival, Bailey said. The bracelets used at the festival this year contain a uniquely coded RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) chip embedded inside assigned to each individual who bought a ticket. The medical examiner will test for drugs and alcohol during an autopsy, Bailey added.
