Jerry Thomas “Tom” Elam

 Mr. Jerry Thomas “Tom” Elam, 77, passed away Saturday Sept. 21, 2019 at McArthur Manor Assisted Living in Manchester.  He was born in Coffee County on Nov. 4, 1941 to Harvey Albert and Beulah Marie Toliver Elam who preceded him in death along with his sister, Marion Elam; brothers, Gordon K., Glenis E. and James Donald Elam. He was a US Army veteran and a member of the New Union Church of Christ.  He was a cattle and row crop farmer. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Anderson Elam; son, Brent Thomas (Dana) Elam, Manchester; brother, Ralph A. (Elaine) Elam, Manchester; sisters, June (Ewin) Davis, Manchester and Doris Hamann, Morrison; grandchildren, Megan and Alison Elam; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 1p.m. Tuesday in the Central Funeral Home chapel with Minister Charles Williams officiating with in the Hopewell Cemetery with Military Honors.  Visitation was 5 – 8 p.m. Monday at Central Funeral Home.

BUNDE

 Matthew Wayne “Matt” Bunde, 44, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, at his home in Decherd. Matt was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Lafary  Bunde and nephews John and James Hill.  He is survived by his father Marvin (Marie) Bunde of Hillsboro and sister Lynetta Hill of Manchester. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019 from 4-6 p.m. at Central Funeral Home in Manchester with a Memorial Service to follow at 6 p.m.

JONES

 Mrs. Doris Savanah Jones, age 89 of Manchester, formerly of Cullman, AL, passed away at her home on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019.  She was born on Aug. 1, 1930. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 2:30 P.M. in the Central Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Rose Hill Cemetery. A visitation with the family will begin at 2 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

HOLT

 Graveside services for Ms. Janie Ruth Holt, age 80, of Winchester, were conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Ms. Holt passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2019 in Winchester. Ms. Holt was born in Manchester, the daughter of the late Cular and Mary Alice Pauline Goad Holt.  Janie was a beautician for many years in her salon, Janie’s Beauty Shop.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Manchester. In addition to her parents, Janie was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clement, Kenneth, Jack, Leon, Ronnie, and Jerry Holt; and one sister, Audrey Walden.  She is survived by several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Finish the Race, c/o First Baptist Church, 1006 Hillsboro Blvd., Manchester, TN  37355.

McAFEE

 Mr. Ivan Willard McAfee, 80, passed away Sunday Sept. 22, 2019 at Unity Medical Center.  He was born in Shady Grove on November 9, 1938 to the late Willard Hammer McAfee and Thelma Brown McAfee.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Central Funeral Home chapel with Minister Alan Adams officiating with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation was 5 – 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 – 11 a.m. Wednesday at Central Funeral Home.

VAUGHN

 Mrs. Tiffany LeAnna Vaughn, age 34 of Manchester, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at St. Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro after an extended illness. Tiffany was born on July 19, 1985, to Mr. Tommy and Pamela Dorsett. She was a LPN at Lifecare in Tullahoma and she attended the Trinity Baptist Church in Manchester. Tiffany enjoyed 4-wheeling and fishing, but her favorite thing in life was spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Tiffany is survived by her husband, Rhett  Vaughn of Manchester; three children, Layne, Ella, and Carter; sisters, Kim (Ray) Holman, Kelly Bryan, Kandy (Tommy) Johannsen, and Angela (Tater Bug) Frame; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. A graveside service was held on Monday, Sept. 23, at Blanton Chapel Cemetery in Manchester at 1:30 p.m. Visitation was on Sunday, Sept. 22, at Central Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m.
