The Manchester youth league continued June 18 with the 6U division as Cooper Sports hosted LAP. The contest began with a flurry of runs scored by Cooper Sports. The team scored five runs in the first inning, while being able to hold LAP to only four runs.
The second inning saw Cooper sports scoring yet again as Keiton Taylor found his way to Homeplate. He was assisted by Keiton Taylor, Raylon Tucker, and Easton Garner who were just a few others who scored during the inning. Cooper began to slow down in the third inning as the team’s bats began to not find their marks. They were only able to score two runs, to which LAP quickly took advantage, scoring five runs in response. This put LAP up 16-14 going into the final inning.
Cooper was able to find their rhythm again as the team scored six runs in the final inning giving them a four-run buffer on LAP. LAP appeared to be going for the comeback as they scored three runs and were in position to tie the game. Cooper would not be denied however as the team kept the last run from scoring ending the game with Cooper 20-LAP 19.
