The Lady Raiders lost their first game of the regular season on Sept. 28 as the Eagleville Eagles took the team to five sets.
The Lady Raiders almost mounted a comeback in the first set as Kiya Ferrel made her presence known around the net with blocks and spikes galore. Ferrel converted her spikes into 16 points during the matchup with four blocks on the night. Kerrie Munn, Maddie Husted, and Lauren Brandt were efficient with their serves as the trio combined for 67 aces against Eagleville.
The match had an ebb and flow to each set as the first set featured a blistering Eagleville attack that netted them the 1-0 set lead over the Lady Raiders. The second set was a dominate performance by the Lady Raiders as they defeated Eagleville 25 to 11. The third set went to extra points as both teams found their rhythm, but the Lady Raiders prevailed with a 28-26 win. Eagleville took over the game at this point however as the Eagle’s won the next two sets including the tie breaker set.
