First Vision defeats Peoples in 12U matchup

People's bank pitcher Isaiah Deadman pitches against First Vision.

The 12U division of Manchester League continued play on June 23 with Peoples Bank visiting First Vision Bank. The game began with a flurry of runs scored. First Vision led off strong as opening batter Riley Evans managed to reach the bases. Evans was followed suite by his teammates Eli Hancock and Bryceton Bunch. Not to be outdone Peoples responded with their own lead-off hitter Ethan Mckenzie putting himself in scoring position. Isaiah Deadman also followed in Mckenzie’s stead, and the two managed to score in the inning before the bats feel cold.

The opening inning made it appear that the contest would be a close affair, but incremental advantages led to the game ending a more one-sided affair. The second inning appeared to be a defensive battle as only one run was scored in the inning by First Vision’s Draven Andrews. People’s seemed poised to match the scored run, but First Vision pitcher Hancock was able to dash those hopes with two quick strike outs.

The third inning saw First Vision begin to run away with the game. The team was able to score three runs during the inning courtesy of Bunch, Lane Johnson, and Keith Hayter. Hancock continued his impressive pitching in the inning as well again notching two strike outs and keeping Peoples from finding a rhythm.

The fourth inning seemed hopeful for Peoples as the team successfully held First Vision to zero runs. It was not to be however as the teams bats remained cold ending the game with First Vision 7-Peoples 2.
