The Coffee County Middle School traveled to South Franklin on Oct. 29 to take on the Trojans on the basketball court. The Lady Raiders started things off with a fast start as the team jumped ahead of the Lady Trojans with 18 points scored in the first quarter. The Lady Raiders offense had no trouble spreading the ball out as multiple Lady Raiders scored in the first quarter. Addi Sartain had the most with six points but she was followed closely by Natalie Barns and Sophie McInturf with five points each.
The Lady Raiders were also adept at keeping the Lady Trojans off the board with numerous defensive and offensive rebounds that kept the ball in the Lady Raiders hands. With the offensive efficiency that the Lady Raiders had throughout the game the team was able to cruise into large lead that was never really threatened. Barns continued to score for the Lady Raiders as she scored another six points in the second quarter.
Olivia Vinson made her presence known in the second quarter as she scored five points. At this point the Lady Raiders were constantly attacking the basket which led to multiple free throw opportunities. The Lady Raiders converted these free throw attempts into five extra points.
The second half was a rehashing of the first as the Lady Raiders showed no signs of slowing down as the team scored 14 points in the third quarter to put the game away with a 53-15 final score.
