The Lady Raider Volleyball team has had a strong showing this season as the team steamrolled through most of the competition. As such expectations were high coming into the first post season tournament on Oct. 8. The Lady Raiders started by playing Franklin County and downed that team in three sets. Kiya Ferrel was a menace in that match as she had 13 points off of spikes. The next match was against Lincoln County where the Lady Raiders were taken to a fourth set. Ferrel stepped up her efforts in this match as she scored 18 points off of spikes. Ferrel was joined by Keri Munn who scored 10 points off of spikes. Lauren Brandt also had 4 aces during the match against Lincoln. With two matches won the Lady Raiders were crowned 8-AAA District champions. Kiya Ferrel was named tournament MVP while Keri Munn, Lexi Bryan, and Lauren Brandt were named to All-District. The Lady Raiders next play in the regional tournament at Coffee County Central High School on Oct. 13.
