Local youth teams continued to see success at the Tennessee Youth Baseball Association State Tournament this past weekend. The Trouble Makers 12U team competed in the three-day event in Murfreesboro and won their age group's state championship on Sunday, July 21.
The Trouble Makers went into the championship game game on Sunday undefeated and didn't slow down. Strong performances on the mound and at the plate helped the team win 14-5 to clinch the title.
Grayson McNeese took off for two home runs to lead the team's offense. Jayden Carter, Lucas Beaty and Austin Gipson also added their own home runs to push the Trouble Makers ahead.
Timothy Henderson pitched a complete six innings to earn the win.
The boys finished the weekend 5-0 with 64 runs total and gave up only eight to their opponents.
