First place for JV

The Coffee County Claybusters junior varsity squad and team celebrates first place on Saturday.

The Coffee County Claybusters traveled to Nashville last weekend for the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) Region 2 Championships. Both the junior varsity and Intermediate Advanced teams took first place in their divisions. 

On Saturday, June 1, Landon Meadows shot a perfect 100 out of 100 for first place. His twin brother Logan followed in second place with 98.

Another notable performance for the JV squad and team was Emma Mathews, who shot a 91 for third place in the lady shooters category. As a whole, the team finished with 465 to lead the competition.

The Intermediate Advanced squad and team led the way on Sunday, June 2, with a score of 455. Riley Bellomy led the way with a 96, just ahead of Garrett Taylor's 95.

Aubrey Payne took second place overall in the Lady Shooters category with a 91. 

The high school team took seventh place overall on Saturday with a score of 472. Hayden Jacobs was the top scorer with a 97, followed by Colter Smith with a 96.
