Coffee County Middle School track & field traveled to Tullahoma High School Thursday (March 7), to open its season. Taking on Tullahoma West, Harris and North Franklin, the Red Raiders and Lady Raiders returned home with several first-place finishes.
The Lady Raiders had first-place finishes from Jalyn Case in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter, Sophie McInturff in the 1600 meter and 800 meter and Kenzie Givens in the 400-meter. The CMS girls’ 4x100-meter relay team added another first-place finish with a time of 1:00.
In field events, Nikki Graham finished first in shot put and discus with a 24’ 10’’ throw for shot put and a 61’ 3’’ throw for discus. Olivia Moss had a first-place long jump finish with a length of 11’ 4’’. Katie Cotton took first in high jump with a height of 4’ 5’’.
The Red Raiders added first-place finishes from Travis Martin in the 100-meter dash, Jacob Slabaugh in the 1600 meter and 800 meter, Braison Yancer in the 400-meter and Payton Holliday in the 200 meter. The 4x100-meter relay team finished first with a time of 54.9. The 4x400-meter relay team also finished first with a time of 5:05.
