Jack Beachboard propels himself into the water at the start of an event during Coffee County's first home meet on Friday, Nov. 2. Beachboard helped lead the boys team to a seventh-place finish at Saturday's meet at Sewanee. 

Coffee County swimming traveled to Sewanee on Saturday to take on teams from all over the state. In their final meet of the regular season, the Central High School swimmers placed ninth out of 20 teams in combined scoring.

In the boys' division, the Red Raiders claimed seventh place. Jack Beachboard led the boys with a first-place finish in the 100 individual medley, finishing at 57.72. Beachboard also had a second-place finish in the 50 backstroke with a time of 27.71 and a fourth-place finish in the 50 butterfly at 26.27. Jase Rice took third place in the 50 backstroke with a time of 31.48.

On the girls' side, the Lady Raiders finished in 10th place. Kaylee Williams led the way with a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.23. Williams followed with a fifth place finish in the 100 freestyle at 1:01.45. Anna O'Connor finished in fourth place in the 50 backstroke with a time of 34.50.

Up next for the CHS swimmers will be the Middle Tennessee High School Swimming Association Region Championships on Friday, Jan. 25. The Westwood Middle and Coffee County Middle Swimmers will compete in the Middle Tennessee Region Championships on Saturday, Jan. 26.
