Central High School tennis player Jaden Talley posted impressive results on the court this past weekend in Nashville. The rising junior took second place at the Ensworth Summer UTR Invitational.
The tournament was held at Ensworth High School from Friday, July 12 through Sunday, July 14.
After a Friday bye, Talley opened tournament play on Saturday in the quarterfinals against Frankin's Tyler Smith. Talley advanced to the semifinal with a straight set win over Smith (6-3, 6-2).
In the Sunday semis, Talley fought off Owen Irving of Nashville for another straight set victory. The Red Raider survived a first set 7-5 tiebreak win and followed with a dominant 6-1 second set to take the match.
Against Max Pruitt of Ensworth in the Sunday final, Talley fell in straight sets to finish second (6-4, 6-3).
This was the second tournament for Talley this summer, after winning the consolation bracket at an earlier event. This was also the second year in a row that Talley earned a medal at the Ensworth event.
