Lauren Brandt (9) in action against Oakland on Monday, September 9. Brandt led the Lady Raiders in several statistical categories at the Rocky Top Classic tournament in Sevierville this past weekend. 

It was a busy weekend for the Central High School volleyball team. The Lady Raiders traveled to Sevierville to compete in the Rocky Top Classic and played in seven matches from Friday, September 13 through Saturday, September 14. 

The team finished the tournament with a 2-5 record against its opponents. 

The first match for CHS was against Daniel Boone. The Lady Raiders were unable to pick up a set in a 0-2 loss. Keri Munn had the team's only ace. Kiya Ferrell led the Lady Raiders with three kills. Lauren Brandt finished with four assists. Brandt and Ferrell both recorded four digs. 

In their next match against East Bulletin, the Lady Raiders again fell 0-2. Munn again led the team in aces, with five of 11 total. Lexi Bryan notched five kills to lead the category. Brandt led CHS in assists and digs with six and four, respectively.

CHS started its Saturday competition against Mountain Brook. The Lady Raiders were again left without a set win in a 0-2 loss. Munn recorded four of the team's six kills. Brandt continued to lead in assists with three. Amelia Prater led the way in digs with six of the team's 17. The team did not record an ace. 

Against Northview, the Lady Raiders were dropped to 0-4 in tournament play in a 0-2 loss. Brandt took off for five of the girls' six aces, as well as 10 of their 13 assists. Munn led the way in kills with six out of 15. Ferrell recorded eight digs. 

In the team's next match against Lawrence County, CHS picked up its first win of the weekend in a 2-0 victory. Munn finished with four aces and five kills to lead both categories. Brandt again led in assists with seven of 13. Abigail Parker took the top spot in digs with four. 

The Lady Raiders followed this victory with a 2-1 win over Murray County. Munn recorded four aces to lead the category. Bryan brought in eight of the team's 18 kills. Brandt had eight assists. Sarah West led CHS in digs with seven.

In their final match against Lebanon, the Lady Raiders took it to an extra set but lost 1-2. Parker, Brandt and Maddy Sussen each recorded two aces for a team total of six. Munn led the girls in kills with six. Brandt capped off an impressive tournament run in assists with seven to lead the team. West led the team in digs for the second-straight match, with 10 total.
