CHS golf takes on Franklin County, Lincoln County

Central High School golf returned home to Willowbrook on Monday, September 16, to host Franklin County and Lincoln County for its final home match.

The Red Raiders finished the day with a 371 to take second behind Franklin County’s 345. Lincoln County shot a 432 to take third place. The Lady Raiders competed against a one-player Lincoln County team and ended with a 227. Lincoln County’s Kylie Reece shot a 104.

The boys’ duo of Robinson and Hale continued to lead the way with identical scores of 89. Chase Hancock followed with a 92. David O’Connor shot a 101 on the day. Avery Hill finished with a 125.

Maggie Crouch led the girls with a 111. Cadie Prater followed with a 116.

CMS volleyball defeats Warren County

Coffee County Middle School volleyball was back on its home court on Monday, September 16, to take on Warren County for eighth grade night. The girls won in straight sets to send off the eighth graders with a 2-0 win.

Impressive work at the service line from Madison Pruitt and Savanah Cooper helped CMS jump out to a 10-1 start in the first set. The Lady Pioneers began to climb back and tighten it to 13-7, but the Lady Raiders held them off for the win.

In the second set, CMS held Warren County to fewer points to win 25-10 and claim the match.

Westwood soccer falls to Community

Westwood Middle School soccer was back on the road on Monday, September 16, to take on Community. Westwood fell behind early in a 5-1 loss.

Leonor Rivera completed the Lady Rockets' only goal, this time with 4:02 left in regulation.

Westwood keeper Hollanne Willoughby recorded 17 saves, with 10 in the first half and seven in the second.
