The incredible run of the regular season continued straight into the postseason for the Central High School Red Raider golf team Monday afternoon.
The Raiders traveled to Lawrenceburg and came away on top, winning their second consecutive District 8-AAA team championship with a score of 298. The team score was several strokes higher than runner-up Tullahoma, at 311. Lawrence County came in 3rd with a 320.
CHS senior Samuel Prater was named the low medalist and individual district champion after finishing with a 72 on the day to lead all scorers. Prater is just the second Red Raider to win the boy’s district championship individually.
“He had a great round and he totally deserved to win the championship,” Coach Mike Ray said. “His dedication and hard work the last four years served him well today.”
Fellow seniors Austin Farris and Matthew Hale both finished with a 75 to finish in sixth place individually.
The win puts Coffee County at 70-5 on the season.
