Two members of the Coffee County Central High School softball team were given postseason honors by the Tennessee Softball Coaches Association on Tuesday, June 11.

Katie Rutledge was selected to play for the TSCA Middle Tennessee All-Star Team and Haley Richardson was named to the TSCA All-State team for Middle Tennessee. 

Rutledge and Richardson, both CHS seniors, closed out their Lady Raider careers strong. Rutledge, a pitcher and center fielder, finished with a .470 batting average. She had 54 hits, 42 runs and 17 RBIs throughout the 38 she games played.

Rutledge was one of 16 players selected for the Middle Tennessee All-Star team.

Richardson, a pitcher and infielder, recorded a .439 batting average on top of 47 hits, 19 runs and 33 RBIs in the 35 games she played in. 

Richardson was one of five chosen from AAA for the Middle Tennessee All-State team. The full team also included five players each from AA and A/D II.

The All-Star games are scheduled for Thursday, June 13, at Cumberland University in Lebanon. The slate of games will feature matches between the the East, Middle and West Tennessee teams and will also include a home run derby.

Both Rutledge and Richardson will continue their careers at the collegiate level next year. Rutledge signed to play for Blue Mountain College in Blue Mountain, Miss. Richardson is headed to Nashville where she will play for Trevecca Nazarene University.
