Westwood Middle School boys' basketball took on Fayetteville City Middle Monday night for the Rockets' final home game of the season. The Tigers jumped out to an early lead and handed Westwood a 36-21 loss on eighth grade night.
Fayetteville opened the game by taking 14-3 first quarter lead. In the second, back-to-back three pointers from Cayden Trail helped the Rockets start to climb back, but by halftime the Tigers were still out in front 22-11.
The second half saw buckets from multiple players, but it wasn't enough to escape a 15-point loss.
Carter led the Rockets with seven points, with Trail following at six. Konor Heaton finished the game with four points. Brayden Dixon and Caiden Warren knocked in two points each.
Coach Will Pannell was not available to comment after the game.
