Local teams saw action on Thursday despite the stormy weather. The Lady Raiders soccer team went to Franklin County to take on the Rebelettes. In North Franklin, the Coffee Middle Lady Raiders played a rain-delayed soccer game against the Lady Gators. Down the road in South Franklin, Coffee Middle volleyball stayed dry inside in a match up with the Lady Trojans.

 

Lady Raiders soccer draws with Franklin County 

Coffee County traveled to Winchester on Thursday to take on the Rebelettes of Franklin County.

In their second match this season, the Lady Raiders got out ahead of the district foe off a free kick from Senior Allie Amado. Franklin County responded with a goal of their own in the 69-minute mark and the Lady Raiders settled for a 1-1 draw.

Amado and Sophomore Maddy Jones led shots for Coffee County with two each. Keeper Lucy Riddle blocked one of two shots on goal.

 

CMS Lady Raiders soccer falls to North Franklin 

Coffee Middle took the field at 6 p.m. Thursday night after an hour-long lightning delay.

A rainy first half saw the Lady Raiders go into the break with a 1-1 tie off a goal from seventh grader Bella Lawson. Lawson found the net off the rebound of a shot from fellow seventh grader Jorja Waggoner.

This turned out to be the team's only goal of the night. The Lady Raiders allowed three more goals in the second half in a 4-1 loss to the Lady Gators.

 

CMS volleyball falls in South Franklin match

The Lady Raiders dropped their district match against the Lady Trojans Thursday night in straight sets.

Coffee County kept both sets close, but couldn't find a win, They lost 25-19 and 25-23.
