CHS volleyball defeats Eagleville in straight sets

Central High School volleyball continued its road slate of games on Wednesday, September 4 at Eagleville. The Lady Raiders did not give up a set to the Lady Eagles on the way to a 3-0 match win. 

CHS won the first two sets 25-21. In the third, the Lady Raiders allowed just one more Eagleville point to win 25-22. 

From the service line, CHS put 93.2% of serves in play with 15 aces. Abigail Parker recorded six aces to lead the category. 

The team finished the match with 20 kills, led by Kiya Ferrell with seven. Amanda Mukai handled eight of the girls' 16 assists and Sarah West had 12 of their 37 digs. Keri Munn had five of the team's eight blocks. 

CMS volleyball defeats South Franklin

Coffee County Middle School volleyball stayed at home on Wednesday, September 4, to host South Franklin Middle School. The Lady Raiders continued to show skill from the service line in a 2-0 match victory over the Lady Trojans.

"Everybody did great," Coach Tori Taylor said. "Our serving really stood out."

CMS won both of its sets 25-8. 

Westwood soccer falls to Fayetteville

Westwood Middle School girls' soccer was back on Wednesday evening to host Fayetteville in a game that was originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 27. 

The Lady Rockets fell to the Lady Tigers 7-2.

Lillian Call put Westwood on the board in the first half. Leonor Rivera followed in the second half with the team's second and final goal of the evening.
